The start of the Adventure

So I had just been dropped off at Heathrow airport, all I had on me was what seemed like a rather small bag for 5 months on my back and what ever common sense i could muster up to get me through the next few months, I didn't know what to expect and I couldn't wait.
I strode up to the checkout desk "I would like to check in for my flight to Singapore"...
"unfortunately your flight has been overbooked..." oh... "however if you volunteer to take another flight we will give you $500."
 Things where looking up already.  I was told to go away have a free breakfast and they would contact me if they needed me to to take the later flight.  In the end I got my scheduled flight but I did get a free breakfast :)
